Chobe National Park

The Chobe River, has long been renowned for its dense game.

Lion are common as well as large herds of buffalo.

Elephant are prolific and reputed to be the largest concentration anywhere in Africa.

Antelope, hippo and crocodiles are also in abundance and the birdlife is exceptional in summer ( Sept to March) and then reverts to excellent for winter

Both game cruises and drives reveal almost "wall to wall" animals near the Chobe river coming down to drink in the dry season.

Moremi Game Reserve - Okavango delta

A very large dry "tongue" into the Okavango floodplain and a protected area donated as a game reserve by Chief Moremi in 1962.

The reserve is set in the middle of the delta.

Prolific game viewing will give you a good chance to see the Big 5 concentrated in a small area.

Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pans

An endless vista of salt pans and rolling grasslands

Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans are "sister" pans located approx. halfway between Maun and Nata.

Roads within the park are rough and sandy, so a 4 x 4 vehicle is essential.

The pans are not always dry - filling with water during the rainy season from mid November and mostly retaining their water until April/May.
